Christmas is Coming!

I think I have held back for an appropriate amount of time so can I get excited about Christmas yet??? Believe me, I wanted to start talking about Christmas the day after Halloween! I am one of those people that just loves Christmas, and when I say love I mean love love love!! I know folks often complain about the commercialization of Christmas and how that can be awful, but what I love about Christmas has nothing to do with gifts and buying things. I love the cheesy Christmas music, the classic orchestral Christmas music, the lights, the pine smell in my home, the sparkly decorations, old traditions that never change even though everything else does, seeing people happy, snow when it’s fresh and new, crafts, baking, Christmas comfort food, warming red wine, the glow of the tree in a darkened room, and mostly enjoying this stuff with the people I love most in the world. I could go on, but there are too many wonderful things to list!

Christmas tree from my first apartment

In the next few weeks there will be a lot of Christmas posts so if you don’t share my enthusiasm for Christmas check back in January!

Here are some wonderful decorating ideas for the holidays from my “Christmas” Pinterest board, which is where the sources for the pictures can be found. I have been drawing from Pinterest for some good holiday decorating ideas, and will soon have some pics of my own place. I have been spending my weekends cleaning and finishing up a few projects before my holiday vacation. This includes a junker piece Matt found that I decided to re-vamp to keep and which I am really excited about using as a display piece for Christmas. I will have some before and afters of that piece for you shortly.

Have you started to think about your Christmas holidays/decor/baking yet? Do you celebrate other holidays around this time of year?

Loved this post! Gave me the warm fuzzies all over. Beautiful decor ideas. My tree now is like your first tree. LOL! Don’t hate the Charlie Brown tree. Everyone has or had one at some point.

Yes, that’s true! This one belonged to my roommate at the time. Her parents gave it to us to use in the apartment to make everything a little more festive. I liked it! Only thing missing was the pine smell of course :)
